My Boyfriend bought me flowers and i want to put them in a scrapbook page, any ideas?
What a lovely gift.
You can press them. This dries them while keeping their colour. Although some flowers press more easily than others – Like roses are very hard to press but daisies are much easier.
What you need is a large book (like a text book, encyclopedia, or phone book). Cut the stem to the desired length. Place the flower between two pieces of paper, or paper towel to protect the pages of the book (you can also put some saran wrap on the pages to protect them even more). Make sure petals are not overlapped or folded. You won’t be able to unfold them after they’ve been pressed. Close the book. You can put more books on top to weigh it down more if you like. Wait a few weeks and there you go – pressed flowers!
You can press individual petals, leaves, or greenery too.
