How do you get that really fluffy look on tear bears for scrapbooking?

I am learning to do tear bears. But I’m stumped at how the so many great artists are getting that fluffy look to them and making each piece of it come out in just the right shape. I have the basic instructions. And I’d love to do them mostly with mulberry paper, but it is very thin. And even with thicker handmade papers I’m not getting the shapes to tear right. Even wet. Can you only get that look with Bazzill paper. And is there a website for a good free pattern. Thanks for any help on this. Been trying for a while =) Scrap Happy

The easiest way to tear mulberry paper is to wet where you want to tear. You can use a wet Q-Tip or a wet brush to wet the area and then tear. The “fluffy” stuff is the fibers in the mulberry paper.
If you want fluff it up some more, use a toothbrush (can be slightly damp) and go over the whole thing (when dry!).
Here’s a page with a pattern you can print out and more detailed instructions.
