The greatest gift we can ever give to our pet dogs is to be included in the family album. Let’s face it, they are already a part of the family even if don’t shout it out to the world; but seeing their cute puppy pictures as we check out our family albums and scrapbooks do bring out happy memories we have with them.

If you want to formally introduce your pet dog into the family tree, then you need to take puppy pictures that will ensure their position in your loving, tight-knit group.

Taking Their Pictures Is The Hard Part

If it’s your first time taking pictures of your pet, then you are in for a big surprise. We enjoy having fun with them during play, and are sometimes amazed on the boundless energy that our dogs seem to have in their small frame. We always enjoy seeing them run, jump, and scamper around while they are at play. But taking their pictures while they are moving around is another story.

In truth, taking a picture of your pet may prove to be harder than you think. They are always on the move and asking them to sit still and pose is an impossible feat, if you don’t know anything about it. Here are some tips to help you out.

1. Ask Someone To Help You

There’s a saying that two heads are better than one, and in the case of taking dog pictures, there is truth to this statement. You need to ask someone to divert the dog’s attention while you are taking their pictures. Make sure that the person you asked for the job is familiar with your pet or all you will be getting is a lot of barking.

Ask this person to play around with your pet and keep them occupied while you’re readying for the shot. You may want to brief them beforehand on what you want so that they can guide your pet to a position that you find appealing.

2. Taking Random Shots

If you’re all alone in this little project, then you might want to bring your camera with you at all times and start taking amateur shots of your dog until you get the right one. You might want to use a digital camera with a lot of memory, since you will be clicking forever until you shot a good one with it.

3. Equip Yourself With A High-End Camera

You might want to purchase or borrow a high-end camera that can take accurate pictures of moving subjects for your puppy picture project. Considering that these types of camera can be very expensive to purchase for this purpose alone, you might want to borrow one for the occasion.

Put your dog out on a favorable setting and let them lose. Put some of their favorite toys around so that they will have fun in the area. Take their some shots while they are playing while testing out the camera until you find the right setting to give you quality results.
